Hey there, I’m Eddie Jung
Hey there, I’m Eddie Jung.
Most of you know me through my Instagram (@eddiejungle) with over 50,000 followers, where I’ve been documenting my real estate investing journey and sharing everything I’m learning along the way.
“Follow to watch me buy a hotel!”
My current objective is to buy a hotel - one of the most challenging property types in commercial real estate. But if the military has taught me anything, it’s risk management.
As a young (24 years old) investor, I don’t have experience owning a hotel, but I do have clear steps to make that up.
Increase the # of properties within my portfolio.
Increase the complexity of properties within my portfolio.
Combine 1 and 2 to buy a hotel.
In order to increase the number of properties I manage (Step 1) with the lowest risk, I’m buying single-family homes with partners and converting them into co-living (rent-by-the-room) properties. This has been my practical education on building systems to handle large volumes of tenants/guests.
By increasing the complexity of properties within my portfolio (Step 2), specifically by introducing short-term rentals, I’m building out systems to handle the short stays that guests will have in my hotel.
But there’s more to know than that!
I’m an active duty Offensive Electromagnetic Warfare Space Operations Officer in the Space Force.
I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan with a degree in Biomedical Engineering.
I ran 2 tech startups in college, which gave me my first taste of solving real-life business problems, working with investors, and failure (more on that in the newsletter).
I’m an avid lifter and keep health as a high priority for myself - and yes, I’m in the 1000 lb club.
And, of course, I LOVE real estate. More importantly, I love the freedom that investing in real estate brings.
While my contract with the government is in place until 2028, real estate has given me a generous supplement to my income and has earned so many of those around me the freedom to leave their jobs and spend their time doing what they love.
My mission is to help others find that freedom through real estate investing.
